Celebrating Excellence in the Martial Arts Community

The winter UK Bugei course of 2025, hosted at Golden Dragon Martial Arts in The Loup, Magherafelt, was marked by exceptional recognition of dedication, skill, and service within the martial arts community.

Honouring Dedication and Achievement

This year, two distinguished martial artists received significant promotions in recognition of their decades-long commitment to the art of Ju-Jitsu:

• Robert Mawhinney, with over 40 years of martial arts experience, was awarded his 7th Dan.
• Bill Mallet, with 25 years experience and, who served as one of the instructors for the course, was awarded his 5th Dan and the prestigious title of Master.

Special Plaque Awards

Further recognition was bestowed upon Professor Mark Noble and Professor Andy Manwaring, both of whom achieved their 9th Dan earlier this summer. In appreciation of their unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to Ju-Jitsu, they were each presented with a special Plaque Award.

The inscription on the award reads:

“In Recognition of Your Outstanding Contribution to the Art of Ju-Jitsu, Spirit, and Community of Martial Arts. Your Dedication, Skill, and Leadership Inspire Generations.”
