Black Belt Success at Bangor Ju-Jitsu Academy
It was a busy evening on Monday, 15th December at the Bangor Ju-Jitsu Academy as eleven students stepped onto the mats to undertake their Dan Grade Assessment. The atmosphere was electric, with a palpable sense of anticipation and camaraderie amongst participants and spectators alike.
With an examining panel headed by Professor Mark Noble, 9th Dan, students from Shinsei Ju-Jitsu and Antrim Ju-Jitsu Academy went through an intense grading, demonstrating all the skills they have been taught. The candidates showcased a high standard of technique, discipline, and perseverance that reflected their dedication to their training.
There were four juniors and seven seniors who all passed their grading. The following grades were awarded:
- William Mallett – 5th Dan
- Joseph Dolan – 5th Dan
- Derek Marshall – 4th Dan
- Stephen Ward – 4th Dan
- Ben Millar – 3rd Dan
- Dylan Bailie – 3rd Dan
- Damian Blaney – 1st Dan
- Ziva Blaney – Junior 1st Dan Black Belt
- Cole Galloway – Junior 1st Dan Black Belt
- Oliver Greer – Junior 1st Dan Black Belt
- Luke Boal – Junior 1st Dan Black Belt
Congratulations to everyone that passed their grades, and special thanks to Professor Mark Noble, Master Stephen Black, Master Robert Mawhinney, Master Darren Dougan, and Master Bill Mallett for officiating on the Grading Panel. Their commitment and expertise were instrumental in ensuring the integrity and success of the assessment. The evening was a true testament to the spirit and community of Ju-Jitsu in Bangor.
